Welcome aboard

I’m glad you found your way here. The Maritime Law is a space for everyone curious about admiralty and maritime law. You may practice it, teach it, study it, report on it, or simply want to understand how the law governs maritime commerce and torts. Some readers come to explore a particular case or issue, and others to keep up with what is changing. Either way, you are welcome.

My aim is to build a resource that makes this complex field more approachable for those just starting out and is genuinely useful for those already working in it.

A few words about me

My interest in admiralty and maritime law grew out of practice. I worked in the legal department of an international freight forwarding company that arranges cargo transportation by road, rail, air, and sea. I then earned an LL.M. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in the United States. I have also completed the LL.M. program at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, with my degree pending conferral.

Having studied law on both sides of the Atlantic, I have come to value the exchange of knowledge between jurisdictions. I hope this site can contribute to that exchange in a small way.
